The Temp Accountant provides fiscal and administrative support to the department by assisting with invoice processing, participant payroll, billing activities, and other accounting tasks as assigned. This role is designed to support ongoing operational needs and ensure timely, accurate financial transactions. The position requires strong attention to detail, confidentiality, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Invoice Processing -Review, verify, and process vendor invoices; ensure proper coding, documentation, and compliance with fiscal procedures.
• Participant Payroll Support -Assist with preparing payroll for program participants; verify timesheets, pay rates, hours worked, and required supporting documents.
• Billing & Accounts Receivable -Prepare billing packets, track payments, reconcile accounts, and follow up on outstanding balances as needed.
• Data Entry & Reporting -Enter financial data into systems; assist with generating reports, and reconciliations.
• Compliance & Audit Support -Ensure transactions follow policies, grant requirements, and internal controls

Minimum Qualifications

• Experience performing accounting, bookkeeping, or fiscal clerical work.  
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and financial recordkeeping.  
• Ability to review documents for accuracy and completeness.  
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, Word, and financial software systems.  
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.  
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
